Committee

The committee is, as usual, led by a President. Since there is a lot to organise throughout the year, they are always supported by a Vice-President. Next, the AVL also needs a Treasurer who oversees the finances. This is arguably the most important role in the entire committee, because without money, not much can be done. The next responsibility is that of the Secretary, who is in charge of documentation and writing programmes. To ensure the AVL always secures enough funding, many sponsors are needed. Therefore, one committee member is responsible for public relations and sponsorships. Another role in the committee is the organisation of various events, for which one or two members are responsible. The next important position in the committee is that of the Culture Minister. This person is responsible for organising a cultural trip every year and for preparing the KAREL twice a year. The last position in the committee is the Sports Minister. Since sports play a big role in AVL, someone must be responsible for this area—whether it is booking facilities, registering for tournaments, or organising teams for the Tournoi de Noël. If necessary, the committee can also be supported by additional members. These can be co-opted members who help with general tasks that arise, or a webmaster who takes care of the AVL website and the committee email accounts.
